"No matter what you've been through, no matter what kind of Darkness you find yourself in, there is Light on the other side. It may take one hell of a fight to find it but, my dear, you are SO worth it!"

Philanthropy is a very important part of The Happy Girl Project, and we believe that women's crisis centers are a vital part of each of our communities. We are saddened by the recent defunding of these kinds of programs across the United States, and we aim to make up some of that lost resource by making donations. Whether online or in person, a portion of our proceeds from each purchase is donated to a local women's crisis center in the community where the sale was made. Please see the list of agencies we've been able to support so far under the tab "Philanthropy" at the top of our home page.

Hi there! My name is Ginger, and I'm the artist behind The Happy Girl Project. This whole thing started as nothing more than just a little art therapy project that I made up for myself. As a mom with a diagnosis of complex PTSD from a lifetime of abuse, I decided that I needed to stand up and fight to find joy in life. If I was stuck in the Dark, with nothing but the triggers and the nightmares in view, how was I supposed to teach my kiddo how to find Light for herself? That is when I started creating images of girls and women smiling, laughing and just being HAPPY! I spent many, many hours with these individual images, and doing a lot of processing with my therapist. While I can't say that I'm 100% better, I can say that I've made tremendous progress. Just ask my family! That is my hope for you as well, my friend. "No matter what you've been through, no matter what kind of Darkness you find yourself in, there is Light on the other side. It may take one hell of a fight to find it but, my dear, you are SO worth it!" Welcome! It is so good to meet you!

"According to the National Institutes of Health in the United States, Fibromyalgia is a chronic pain disorder that affects the whole body in about 2% - 3% of the global population, mostly women. This disorder can be accompanied by other symptoms such as fatigue, headaches, IBS, sensitivities to light and sound, "Fibro Fog," and many more. While a single cause has not been identified, data shows a significant link to those who have survived a stressful event or even abuse. Unfortunately, a cure has not yet been found for Fibromyalgia, but there are treatments and medications available."
